Nowadays
Stuart is primarily involved in writing, storytelling and lecturing,
with the odd musical gig thrown in. In the past however he has
worked in advertising, journalism, broadcasting and the entertainment
industry. Additionally he was the Director of the Scots Language
Resource Centre 1993-98 and Chairman of the Pictish arts Society
1994-98. He has an honours degree in History from Edinburgh
University and has worked as a consultant in culture and tourism.
He has taken part in various international projects and given
papers at conferences on history, cosmology, tourism and Scots
language. To date he has had eight books in print and has been
published as a poet since the 1970s. He also spent many years
as a musician playing traditional and popular forms of music
and has also appeared extensively on radio and television both
in Scotland and abroad.
